There were 16,740 people registered as unemployed in the Labour Market Board at the end of February. This is 6.2 pct more than in January 2008, but 18 pct more than in February 2007.
This represents 2.6 pct of all employable population aged from 16 to pensionable age. During February, 1,006 registered unemployed found work, while 3,210 people were registered as new unemployed.
